Don is a member of Sandberg Phoenix’s Intellectual Property practice group. He protects brands, focusing his practice on trademark prosecution, agreements, and enforcement, as well as copyrights, design patents, false advertising, unfair competition, trade secrets and related areas. He has worked with multinational and domestic clients in industries from large international insurance companies to media and entertainment companies, to prosecute, enforce, and protect valuable intellectual property assets. Don handles TTAB proceedings, patent and trademark infringement matters, enforcement and cease and desist programs, UDRP proceedings, DMCA takedowns, domain name transfers, and social media, streaming service, online marketplace, and domain registrar complaints. Additionally, Don assists clients on clearance, prosecution, transactions, portfolio management and development, trade secret confidentiality agreements, IP agreements including licensing and assignments, and IP due diligence for mergers & acquisitions.
In between his summers at Sandberg Phoenix, Don worked at a large international law firm where he performed IP portfolio due diligence to help close a M&A deal totaling $107M. Additionally, Don assisted in the acquisition of a web startup for US $200M While there, Don assisted in closing multiple M&A transactions totaling in excess of US $500 million.
Based on his background in intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, and biochemistry, Don brings a wide range of experience to his practice.
In his spare time, Don enjoys hanging out with family and friends, cycling, golfing, going to the gym, and catching up on any new anime/manga.
