Tracey Truitt Joins Sandberg Phoenix; Firm Positioned for Growth in Intellectual Property Sector Nationwide

Sandberg Phoenix welcomes leading intellectual property attorney Tracey Truitt to the firm’s Kansas City office as Shareholder and Intellectual Property Practice Group Leader. Truitt, who previously practiced at Armstrong Teasdale, is joined by Erin Perry, Legal Project Manager. 

Truitt joins the firm’s Intellectual Property Group from Armstrong Teasdale with proven experience in a number of industries including agribusiness, food, health care, biotechnology and life sciences. He counsels clients on patent, trademark, and copyright acquisition, licensing, enforcement issues, due diligence, litigation, and other general business matters.

Truitt will assume the role of Practice Group Leader for the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. Based out of the firm’s Kansas City office, Truitt will drive the growth of the intellectual property practice, recruit and retain top IP talent, and expand IP services offered to current and prospective clients.

The firm currently has 9 intellectual property attorneys and 8 intellectual property support staff with plans to expand headcount in the practice area. 

Truitt is a member of American Intellectual Property Law Association Biotechnology Committee, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. U.S. Patent Office Biotechnical/ Chemical/Pharmaceutical Partnership Group, Patent Trial and Appeal Board Bar Association, and AUTM.

Truitt received his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center.
