Don Ward joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2018 as a shareholder. He concentrates his practice in civil litigation defense including products liability, asbestos and toxic torts. He does trial work in the Circuit Courts of Southern, Central and Northern Illinois, including Madison, St. Clair, McLean and Cook County as well as the City of St. Louis and Jackson County, Missouri.
He has been retained to defend a variety of clients from heavy industry, manufacturers, premises owners and distributors throughout the state of Illinois from Chicago to Southern Illinois and from St Louis to Kansas City in toxic torts, products liability and workers' compensation claims.
Don was an Adjunct Instructor in the Paralegal Studies Department for Belleville Area College (now Southwestern Illinois College) from 1997 to 2000, where he taught federal and state civil procedure and evidence in a litigation course. He is active in the Illinois State Bar Association, where he has served as a delegate in the Assembly for St. Clair County, Illinois, past chair of the Standing Committee on Bar Services and Activities and past chair of the Young Lawyer's Division Law Student Committee. He is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the St. Clair County Bar Association. Don has been a frequent speaker on behalf of the Illinois State Bar Association to law schools on employment issues.
