Sreenivasa Rao Dandamudi Joins Sandberg Phoenix as Counsel

Sandberg Phoenix has announced that Sreenivasa Rao Dandamudi has joined the firm’s Health Law and Business Practice groups, effective August 1, 2021. In his role with Sandberg Phoenix, Dandamudi will be representing physicians and other health law practitioners, as well as leading the firm’s campaign finance and election law efforts.

Dandamudi, who joined the firm as Counsel, most recently served as a Commissioner with Missouri’s Administrative Hearing Commission, ruling on complex cases involving licensure of health care professionals, Medicaid compliance, licensure of health facilities, multimillion dollar tax cases involving Fortune 500 companies, campaign finance compliance and cannabis licensure appeals. Sreenivasa has 1,480 decisions published in Westlaw under Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission Decisions. During his rotations as Presiding & Managing Commissioner, Sreenivasa regularly testified before both houses of the Missouri’s General Assembly to advance the Commission’s budgets.

Prior to his tenure as a Commissioner, Sreenivasa served as the Board of Registration for the Healing Arts’ first in-house General Counsel. During his tenure as General Counsel, he regularly drafted state regulations, including the current regulations that allow Missourians to receive flu vaccines from their pharmacists or simply go to a pharmacy’s nurse clinic and receive prescriptions for controlled substances. In drafting these regulations, Sreenivasa gained unique insight on the input provided by various lobbying groups and the navigation required in enacting regulations with the approval of the General Assembly’s Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

Health Law Practice Group Leader Dennis Harms says, “Sreenivasa deepens the knowledge base of the Health Law Practice Group with his experience in administrative law and practice. He brings a unique perspective when counseling clients through government investigations, compliance and government relations issues. We are excited for him to help our firm grow and assist more clients in the areas of health law and campaign finance.”

Sandberg Phoenix serves clients primarily in the areas of business, business litigation, health law, intellectual property and products liability. With more than 150 attorneys, the firm has six offices in Illinois and Missouri and works with clients in the Midwest, nationwide and worldwide.
