Our administrative members are invited to attend an annual firm picnic, a family day event and a Staff Appreciation Luncheon – all to say “Thank You” for their hard work.
The firm provides a wide range of opportunities for personal and professional development for both attorneys and staff members. To help new firm attorneys succeed, Sandberg Phoenix invests in continued skill development opportunities, marketing opportunities, an individual marketing budget, client exposure, mentor support and opportunities for leadership positions on firm committees such as the Charitable Efforts, Diversity, and Recruiting and the Women’s Forum.
New associates also attend the “Sandberg Phoenix College,” a two-day educational symposium, which covers the “nuts and bolts” of everyday practice as well as offering classes in the specialty areas of the firm. The firm’s monthly in-house continuing legal education program addresses important topics such as negotiating skills, interviewing witnesses, discovery issues, handling real estate transactions and attorney marketing skills.
For staff and paralegals, Sandberg Phoenix offers the “Training to New Heights Program,” which is a long-term training program providing educational opportunities and programs to keep up to date on firm procedures, enhance technology skills, and improve communication skills in order to meet our client service goals.
Whether an attorney or staff member, Sandberg Phoenix stands behind its members and offers a broad range of support services in addition to the generous benefits package. For new associates, the firm’s Associate Committee, managed by four shareholders and the Director of Human Resources, helps individuals to assimilate with the firm by answering questions and providing career guidance. Associates are also invited to participate in our “Shadowing Program,” which allows associates to shadow a partner or senior level associate in court, depositions and meetings.
After selecting two primary practice areas, associates are assigned a mentor who will provide additional training, advice and support as each individual enhances their skills and business development initiatives in each practice area.
For staff members, the teamwork-driven environment fostered by Sandberg Phoenix ensures that ample resources are available to every individual to answer questions, hear concerns and address issues promptly and effectively. The Human Resources department staff members also participate in our open-door policy and remain at the disposal of our members throughout their careers at Sandberg Phoenix.
