To develop expertise in a practice area, secretaries are assigned to lawyers by practice group.

Secretaries are part of the Training to New Heights Program which is a long-term training program for legal secretaries and administrative staff to keep up-to-date on firm procedures, enhance technology skills, and improve communication skills in order to meet our client service goals.

Secretaries, paralegals and attorneys work together as a team with Human Resources available for advice and assistance.

Secretaries attend monthly staff meetings that enhance communication between managers and other staff members. Each staff meeting includes a training session with topics ranging from new court procedures to software training.

Sandberg Phoenix has a Secretarial Committee comprised of legal secretaries and administrative assistants who serve as liaisons to the Human Resources Department.

Staff members and the HR Department meet twice a year for lunch to discuss the firm's goals, strategy, and how this will affect the staff in their daily activities.

With Sandberg Phoenix's "Standards of Quality Program," secretaries are eligible for a performance bonus every year.

Staff members are invited to attend various social events including a Firm Picnic, a family day event and a Staff Appreciation Luncheon - all to say “Thank You” for the hard work.
