Biography
Stacie Owens joined Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard in November of 2006. Stacie is part of the Business and Business Litigation Practice Groups and she focuses her practice in the areas of labor and employment law. Stacie’s practice involves litigating employment discrimination claims and restrictive covenant issues on behalf of management as well as investigating and responding to employee claims before administrative agencies. In addition to representing clients in federal and state court and before federal and state agencies, Stacie’s practice includes counseling clients on employment-related matters and human resource functions as well as drafting personnel policies, employment contracts, severance agreements and employee handbooks. Stacie has developed a particular emphasis in the specialized area of physician and medical personnel employment contracts and issues. Stacie also conducts seminars and training for corporate clients and industry groups on all aspects of employment law compliance and human resource issues.
In 2011, Stacie was named a Rising Star by Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers in the area of Employment Litigation - Defense.

Civic Activities
Stacie serves on the Community Investment Panel for the United Way of Greater St. Louis and is a member of the United Way of Greater St. Louis, Women's Initiative Next Generation.
She is also active at Christ the King Catholic Church in University City, Missouri.
Professional Activities
Stacie is admitted to practice law in the states of Missouri, Illinois and Florida, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois.
Stacie is a member of the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Human Resource Management Association of Greater St. Louis.
In addition, Stacie serves on the Sandberg Phoenix Recruiting Committee and is co-chair of the Sandberg Phoenix Women's Forum.
Education
Stacie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in 2001.
In 1997, Stacie earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Drury University.
