Dick has practiced construction law for over 35 years, representing contractors, suppliers, owners and design professionals while concentrating on filing and perfecting mechanic’s liens, bond claims, drafting contracts and legislation, and seeking creative solutions to troublesome problems. Arguing appeals in both state and federal courts, Dick tries construction cases throughout the United States and has earned an esteemed reputation for arbitrating complex construction disputes.

On the vanguard of construction industry legislation, Dick has drafted a number of bills enacted into Missouri law and was the principal draftsman of legislation enacting retainage reform and outlawing broad form indemnity clauses in Missouri. He also authored the bill enacted into law by the Missouri legislature declaring contingent payment clauses not to be an impediment to the enforcement of mechanic’s liens.
