Biography
Melanie joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2011 as an associate, and she is a member of the Health Law and Products Liability Practice Groups. Prior to joining Sandberg Phoenix, Melanie practiced for several years with a defense firm in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Civic Activities
Melanie serves on the Board of Directors of ALIVE (Alternatives to Living in Violent Environments) and the Young Professionals Advisory Board for Our Lady's Inn. She is also a volunteer for the Missouri Botanical Garden.
Professional Activities
Melanie is licensed to practice in Missouri, Illinois, and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Illinois and Eastern District of Missouri.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Madison County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, and the Lawyers Association of St. Louis, Missouri. She also serves on the firm’s Associate, Charitable Efforts, and Wellness Committees.
Education
Melanie received her Juris Doctor, Certificate in Health Law, and Certificate in Employment Law from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2008. During this time, she served as Staff Editor on the
Journal of Health Law and Lead Editor on the
Journal of Health Law and Policy. She also assisted two health law professors with legal research and drafting textbooks as a Faculty Fellow.
Melanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science,
summa cum laude, from Saint Louis University
in 2005.
