Biography
Lori DaCosse joined Sandberg Phoenix in January of 2011 and focuses in the areas of Real Estate, Construction, Title Insurance & Business Law.
She is an accomplished transactional attorney and is comfortable inside a courtroom. Lori represents a host of small business clients including government contractors, trade associations, property managers, real estate developers and investors, and construction companies. Her experience entails all aspects of real estate development and finance including the negotiation and drafting of purchase agreements, leases, and asset and stock purchase agreements. She also represents small businesses in choice of entity issues and all aspects of corporate governance.
In addition, Lori manages a thriving title company conducting title review and making and implementing underwriting decisions. Beyond her transactional practice, she also has significant experience with construction and landlord-tenant litigation. She has significant involvement in corporate governance of the local REALTOR Association, has successfully closed complex multi-million dollar transactions and negotiated a settlement of a key employee dispute in the context of a 10 million dollar transaction.
Lori has earned a Certificate of Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Strauss Institute, and was also award the American Jurisprudence Award in Negotiation and Settlement Advocacy and Mediation.

Professional Activities
Lori is admitted to practice law in the states of Missouri, Illinois and California, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Lori is a member of the Illinois Bar Association’s Real Estate Section and Young Lawyers Division. She is also an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University School of Professional Studies in Real Estate Contract Law.

Lori earned her Juris Doctor,
cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1999.
In 1995, Lori earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English,
summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was named a Highest Distinction graduate and received the Bronze Tablet.
