Biography
Kevin P. Krueger is a shareholder of Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard. He focuses his practice on products liability cases.

His experience includes successfully defending product manufacturers in hundreds of catastrophic injury cases since 1985. He concentrates his practice on pharmaceutical/medical device, automotive/recreational vehicle and heavy equipment products liability cases. Kevin has served as national coordinating counsel on selected litigation for a wide variety of clients. He has successfully defended cases in numerous jurisdictions to include Missouri, Illinois, Alabama, Florida, Michigan and California. Kevin’s appellate practice also includes successful arguments before the Missouri Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals (8th Circuit), the Missouri Court of Appeals (Eastern District) and the Illinois Court of Appeals (5th District).

Kevin was named to the Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers in the Civil Litigation area in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and in the Products Liability area in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Kevin was also included in the 2010 Corporate Counsel Edition of Super Lawyers in the area of Products Liability..

A sampling of Kevin's litigation experience includes:
Volz v. GHP. Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Defense Verdict. First Chair. Medical malpractice – improper prescription of Prednisone, permanently disabled due to respiratory disease.

Little v. Shell. Circuit Court of Madison County, Illinois. First Chair. Favorable settlement, after three days into trial - $150,000 under pre-trial demand in a premises liability, femur fracture case.

Uzzell v. Shell. Circuit Court of Madison County, Illinois. First Chair. Mistrial – deadlocked jury followed by favorable settlement of $300,000 under pre-trial demand in a premises liability, hip fracture/dislocation.

Dochwat v. Shell. Circuit Court of Madison County, Illinois. First Chair. Favorable settlement. After four days into trial, $3.5 million under pre-trial demand, living mesothelioma.

Rodriguez v. Suzuki. Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Served as local counsel and played limited role during a ten week trial. Verdict for plaintiffs. $30 million in actual damages, $60 million in punitive damages in a product liability – Samurai rollover case. Plaintiff is a quadriplegic.

Kevin’s publications include "Cross-Examining the Plaintiff," Missouri Products Liability Handbook (2004) and “The Critical Role of Experts in Products Liability Cases,” The St. Louis Bar Journal, Winter 2002.

Kevin presented "Emerging Issues in Motor Vehicle Product Liability Litigation" at the 2009 ABA Motor Vehicle Product Liability Seminar.

Education
Kevin earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Washington University School of Law in 1985.

He earned his A.B. at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1982.
