Timothy Niedbalski, Shareholder

Biography

After working at Sandberg Phoenix as a Summer Associate in 2006, Tim Niedbalski joined the firm in September of 2007 as an Associate in the Products Liability and Health Law Practice Groups. Tim is now a Shareholder serving as Practice Group Leader for the Products Liability Group and as the Sandberg Phoenix Transportation Team Leader. He focuses his legal practice on matters of transportation, product liability, personal injury and medical malpractice defense. Tim has developed extensive experience in representing local, regional and national clients in the heavy machinery and trucking and transportation industries. He has also worked with clients ranging from hospitals, physicians and other healthcare professionals to manufacturers and distributors of automotive products, medical devices, hunting and sporting goods and recreational products. Tim has successfully first chaired multiple mediations in cases involving trucking/transportation law and premises liability.

“Sandberg Phoenix places significant trust in associates to learn, grow and contribute early in their careers,” Tim says. “It was what first attracted to me the firm and that responsibility continues to motivate me.”

Each case is different, and so are the goals and expectations of the clients. “As attorneys, we are in the service industry and the only way to provide excellent service to our clients is to develop individual relationships and understand their specific industry.” Building from that knowledge base, Tim offers an early and realistic evaluation, advising the optimal method of achieving the goals of the individuals and companies he represents, whether that is trial or resolution. His responsiveness and dedication mean his clients can focus on running their businesses or practices while he works to represent their best interests.

Outside the office, Tim enjoys spending time with his daughter, fitness, playing and watching sports and managing the Sandberg Phoenix softball team.

Background

Attending Saint Louis University, Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics in 2004, graduating magna cum laude, and captained the school’s club hockey team for three years. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2007, where he was the Managing Editor of the Public Law Review. His article on eminent domain in the Saint Louis University Public Law Review was voted “Best Student Comment” amongst his peers.

Tim is a current member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Association of Transportation Law Professionals and the Sandberg Phoenix Recruiting Committee. Tim has previously served on the firm’s Charitable Efforts and Associate Committees and is a former member of the Executive Board at HavenHouse, a local charity with a mission to provide the comfort of home and a community of support for families traveling to St. Louis for medical care.

In 2010, Tim was named one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s “30 Under 30,” an award given to young professionals with a high level of professional achievement and community involvement. In recognition of his outstanding work as a young attorney, Tim was selected as a “Rising Star” by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers in 2014-2017.

Tim is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of both Missouri and Illinois as well as the Federal Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri.
